Saw it. Pinned it. Did it: Redneck Wine Glass

I'm eatin' corn dogs covered in salsa  and watching General Hospital while I write this. I'm such a Texas cliche.
No music question today. I've been sick and have only listened to Pentatonix's Christmas EP. They are a Texas A cappella group.

So, I have a tutorial for you lovelies.  I guess that's what you'd call it. If I haven't mentioned that I have an obsession with Mason Jars then let me mention it now. (I have an obsession with Mason Jars) I fully believe everything taste better out of a Mason Jar. I even have a Pinterest Board dedicated to Mason Jars. (Y'all should follow me)

I've came across the Redneck Wine glasses and thought they were just the cutest thing.  Imagine my surprise when I saw how much people wanted for them. Sorry y'all but they lost their minds. I knew I could make this and set out to do just that.

I guess I should just get to the tutorial since that's all y'all really care about.

First let's gather our supplies.

  • Obviously you'll need Mason Jars. I used Kerr Mason Jars. (Shh don't tell my daddy. He's probably rollin' over in his grave. He was a Ball fan.)
  • Candle Holders (I got them for dollar tree. They only sale one kind and they are perfect.)
  • E6000
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Top coat glaze spray
  • Ribbion
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Cotton Balls

Start by cleaning the bottom of the Mason Jar and the top of the Candle stick with rubbing alcohol. Gluing dirt would be the worst.  Then put the E6000 on the top of the Candle stick and the bottom of the Mason Jar. Now I know your first instinct would be to place the two together but don't do it. I MEAN IT. Patience my dears our you'll never make it down here. Let them sit for about 2-3 mins. (Use the free minutes to put glue on the others) I don't really know what this does but Momma has done it FOREVER and so do I. I believe it makes the glue tacky or so she says.
Once it has set for a few minutes you may now place the two together like so:

E600 dries pretty quick but I would wait to be on the safe side. 12 hours is a good time but since I was sick, I got lazy and left them for a day.

Now, you can leave them like this but what would be the fun in that. I decided to decorate mine since they will be Christmas gifts for my two bestest bestfrans.

I start by painting the bottom. Even strokes y'all.

Once they dry I then paint the inside of the bottom. Helps the color look darker. (Or so I tell myself)

Once that has dried I added some designs. I chose to only decorate one of the actual Mason Jars. I traced and S for Stephanie and then painted it in.

Once all the paint has dried you are ready to spray those bad boys. I only sprayed where there was paint. Be careful not to get the glaze where the person may drink from.

I let the glaze dry overnight and then I added some ribbon.

There y'all go. Enjoy and let me know how yours turn out.
