Girl Scouts- Camp Everdeen.

G is for Girl Scouts. I've mentioned many times that I was in Scouts and am now a lifetime member. I'm also on the Service Unit for our local Scouts. I am the events coordinator. Think of it as me bein' an executive in a group. With bein' the events coordinator, I get to plan and assist events for the Girls to participate in.

This past weekend was our Hunger Games Campout entitled Camp Everdeen. I think I was more excited than the girls. We camped at one of the GS Camps in Denison on Lake Texoma. I hadn't been to this camp since I was little. Boy, was I in for a shock and I see why it's bein' shut down as soon as they finish updatin' two of the camps they are already workin' on. It was a little cold, wet and dreary but we still have fun.

The camp that we stayed at has platform tents that are built into the camp. A few days before camp a storm came through and damaged some of them. They were still waitin' on new tents from the head GS Office in NYC. That meant I was sleapin' in the dinnin' hall with my Momma. Can we talk about how are air mattress deflated in the middle of the night. My Momma couldn't sleep after that so she woke me when she heard dogs. Turns out they were Coyotes. She then freaked herself when she kept hearin' an animal tryin' to get in. I eneded up sleepin' in her car for a bit cause she was so scared and wouldn't let me sleep. And I know I ticked all the girls off when I set off her car alarm accidently at like 7 am.

So, what y'all do this weekend? If I could camp every weeknd I would. I love nature and getitn' away for a while but I am happy to be back.

Holy picture overload

    1. Also, if she doesn't like Coyotes, I have a great story about my hiker friend and a bear....

  2. See this is why I don't like camping.... I always blame it on my girls being too little but I think I am a lot like your mama.... I don't like wild life... I can handle a deer but anything else w claws, a growl, a stink or sharp teeth.... um no!

  7. No, do not tell your mother Bekah's story about the bear! I don't know Bekah or the story but your mom doesn't need any more wild animal issues!
