U- Uncomfortable

I remember the first time I had Sushi. I was 18. A friend had a birthday party at the Hibachi restaurant in town. Her momma loved sushi so she ordered some for the table. I remember the nervous, anxious fellin' as I bucked up and tasted. Now, I wonder how I'd gone so long without tryin' Sushi.

My point is that many times we shy away from things because they make us uncomfortable. I can tell ya first hand that livin' in Texas people like their traditions and don't like change much. Another goal of mine is to change this. To be more open to new experiences. The other night I survived my first Dallas Junior League event and I am beyond proud of myself. I have never been a shy one but you put me in a room full of young adult who only want to talk about themselves and I'm more uncomfortable than a hooker at church on a Sunday mornin'.

What is somethin' that makes you uncomfortable?

  1. So many things... let's start with having to call companies re: nothing I know about! For example.. my husband tried to refinance our home... it did not go through so he wanted ME to call them to get our $ back... I'm like.. I am good at getting my way when it comes to this stuff but they are going to talk about stuff I know nothing about... truth! Another thing is... driving in unknown places.. I don't care if it is the town over.. If I am not familiar w a place.. I panic if I have to drive there...

  2. Sushi makes me uncomfortable too! -- mainly because I'm allergic to shellfish and sushi has landed me in the ER more than once. HA!

I don't get uncomfortable very easy, but I've never liked walking across the street at a busy intersection. I don't like knowing that people are watching me walk: analyzing my outfit, how I saunter. Any of it. It's a weird thing but I try to avoid it. ;)

    1. Ouch! That sounds like it wasn't very painful. And I know exactly what you mean about the walking. I don't like it either. Really I don't like attention at all

  4. I keep wanting to try sushi! The first time I tried it I didn't like it but I feel like I got the wrong thing. Thanks for inspiring me to go out and try something I'm a little bit uncomfortable about.

  5. This title! lol. Great message =) I'm allergic to rice but I have tried a sushi that didn't include rice (the only one on that restaurant's menu) and it was delicious!

  7. I've never tried sushi! I'm not a seafood fan to begin with and raw fish just doesn't sound appealing to me! But other things that make me uncomfortable...confrontation, parents not watching their kids...like when you're at Walmart and the parents are walking 10 - 15ft in front of their kids! UGH! I see it all the time. Talking in front of a big group of people, snakes, oh goodness I have quite a list!
