Of course I eat meat... I'm from the South

P.F. Chang's: Thanks for bein' my fran and sponsorin' this post. Of course all the grit, sass, and calories consumed and gained are my own. To bad Pf Changs can't take the calories and food baby birthed. But seriously y'all.
So I have this new hasghtag: #Diditfortheblog. I'm sure I'm not the inventor of this hashtag but Imma claim it and pretend that I did. Maybe I should pause and explain. This story has nothin' to do with P.F. Changs but I love stories and it'll help explain. So, y'all all know that I joined the Dallas Junior League with, Ride or Die (Sherry) who's in Germany and I'm all jelly. Well we had retreat two weekends ago. Of course they were all, "y'all gotta make frans" and not once were we able to sit with each other. We didn't even get to eat lunch together. Yes, I know the whole point is to make new fran's and connections. See, I'm not shy and have never met a stranger but you ask me to start talkin' about myself and it's gonna be a big ol' hot mess.

Anyways, I'll get to the point. After we switched tables/partners for the millionth time. Ok, maybe it wasn't that many but it sure felt like it. We had to get to know our partner an introduce them. I kept insistin' I had nothin' interestin'. Finally I admitted I blogged only to have my partner admit that she had seen me on Pinterest. Y'all I'd like to say I handled it well but I didn't and I got all awkward. After she introduced me, "as a successful blogger yada yada", a few other ladies came up to tell me they either read me or follow me on some form of social media. Y'all I about lost it and wanted to hide and cry the rest of the day. The flowin' tears emoji was me. It's one thing to put your life all over the internet. It's another to stop and think about the people behind the computer screens readin' or actually meet them. Sherry then proceeded to put all over social media that she was the Gale to my Oprah. SMH

Holy not gettin' to the point. Well, when some of the girls kept askin' about the blog or things I've done I kept sayin' #Diditforttheblog. I was tellin' them how at first my frans/family were weirded out but now that the opportunities and trips are rollin' in they jumped on the train' and ain't gettin' off anytime soon. No seriously we were at dinner in Mississippi and my Momma stopped the whole table from touchin' the catfish until I got the photo I needed. See, she #Diditfortheblog. My newest obession is sayin' this and I know my frans are gonna get tired of me sayin' it and hashtaggin' it. Oh well, cause I did it for the blog and they just gonna have to deal.

Fast forward to P.F. Changs. I was offered the chance to team up with them and help promote/review a new section of their menu. P.F. Chang's small plates  is somethin' new they are tryin' out. Along with erasin' their seasonal menu items they added a happy hour. Many of the small plate items as well as Sushi and certain drinks are at a discounted price. Monday-Friday 3pm to 7pm between $3 to $7 dollars... Is that not a smart way to market somethin'?!?! I was all excited to eat all of the food when at the last minute I had no one to go with. Sherry kept suggestin' I ask one of my new Junior League fran's but I was all shy and was worried they wouldn't want to or be able to for that matter. Thank goodness Bestfran Numero Duo happened to be free. I called her and she was all, "I had a late lunch with the parents. I'm washin' laundry." I was all, " #Diditfortheblog, they want us to come eat the food." Thanks goodness she agreed.

I met up with Bestfran Numero Duo at the P.F. Chang's in Dallas. I had never been and about got lost navigatin' North Park to find it. All my Dallas lovers understand. That mall is not just swanky but huge. I finally meet up with Bestfran and we caught up while we waited to be seated. Yes, we had a slight wait but who cares. We #Diditfortheblog. Plus, can you really complain when you aint' payin'? I know I sure can't.

The first thing our waiter did was tell us all about the new menu and how things had changed. I laughed and wen't, "We sure do know." We couldn't decided what we wanted so Casey was all I can drink. We went through the new small plates menu and I knew immediately I wanted to try the Jimaca Pork Tacos. Casey turned her nose up at the pork reference only for me to say, "What now you don't eat pork?" Her response was priceless: "Of course I eat meat. I'm from the South!" We laughed and then I picked out the Asian Carnitas Bao to try. Y'all and try we did. Casey put up with me snappin' all the pics and yammerin' on and on. When they waiter came back over he realized I was bloggin'. He told me he should have guessed cause of all the photos I was takin'. He said I was the second person he had seen that week. We even started jokin' around cause I didn't tell him the Mangos were out to get me. He was fussin' at me for not tellin' him and that he could have input the items we were orderin' in the system and they will break it down by allergies. Apparently they are one of the only restaurants that do that and I told him I would mention it. Y'all this waiter was the loveliest. Especially to put up with us.

We were strugllin' to eat all the food but we kept orderin'. Casey was tooo cute. I forget that I hadn't seen her in forever and never really hung out with her when I was #Diditfortheblog. I kept havin' to tell her, "no it's ok. They want us to eat the food. They give me money to eat all the food." We called the waiter back over only for him to tell us the items we wanted had already been ordered on the house. He said he had read our mind. He felt bad cause the next round took forever to come out. When the Edamame Hummus and Ahi Tartare with Avocado finally came out, the manger brought them. I wish I could tell you that I was payin' attention to the manager and all the things he had to say about the new dishes but I wasn't. I was to focused on how are waiter had the best smile and was super friendly.

The waiter kept makin' jokes with us and made sure we loved everythin'. We finished the night with dessert cause why not... No, no plate went unturned. I'd like to say that we are foodies that enjoy a good Asian Cuisine but really we are Texas fatty's that love love love to eat. No, we really do. I'll just calk it up to bein' Southern.

I'll deff have to come back in visit. So, P.F. Changs, thanks for the "girls night out" we sure had fun.

See, I had a point with the #Diditfortheblog hashtag. It just took me many paragraphs to make it.

  1. My boyfriend always laughs that he hasn't eaten anything hot from the oven in over two years. I feel so bad about it but it's just what bloggers gotta do. Love the small plates options at P.F. Changs!

  3. Totally true- my husband has hopped on by helping me for #diditfortheblog. The other day we took my inlaws out to dinner and he stopped them from touching the food (I was in the restroom) until I could get some pics!

  17. I find it so weird yet awesome when people find out that I blog...or when I run into people who recognize me from my blog. I was part of a show and I had people attend who followed my blog that I didn't even know of. They came to watch me!
I will admit that I've never been to a PF changes but we do have similar restaurants in our city.
