Sushi Zen: Sushi really is just cooked rice?

This past weekend I tried a new restaurant in Frisco, Texas called Sushi Zen with bestfran numero uno and her little sister. She was home for the weekend and they were stayin' at their Momma's house while she is takin' care of their grandpa in Arkansas . Her little sister is a student at our Alma Matter so it's always nice when she comes home for visits. But back to this Sushi joint. They are an all you can eat type of place. Essentially you get three rounds and you can order whatever you want off the menu on each round. After the third round if you have un eaten Sushi left then it is 50 cents for each piece.
Can we talk about how genius this restaurant is and how full I left that place. The only thing I didn't like about the place was the service. I'm tryin' to give them the benefit of the doubt sine Steph, and Racheal visit there often and this was the firs time they had poor service. They took forever to bring is our first round and the man even laughed at us when he picked up our order sheet. We were like, " He don't know our life. We gon eat all this Sushi and then some."
Can we also talk about how this was only $9.99 a person. U'mm yes ma'am. These days it's hard to get a roll for that price at a Sushi joint. Whelp, consider this my unofficially weekend update as well as my review of the place. So... what kind of Sushi do y'all love? Really I just wanted to show off these pics and the editing I did on them.

  2. Sounds like my kind of place. I'll have to pass the word on to my sister in Fort Worth. She can put some sushi away!! Every time I read your blog I miss Texas. ;( Hopefully we will end up back there when my husband retires from the Marine Corpse in a few years. ;)

    1. I bet there is one near Fort Worth. Aww, maybe you will be able to come back to Texas. I knew you used to live in Texas but I didn't realize your husband was in the military.

  3. I've never heard of a place like that! Conveyer belt sushi seems to be the thing where I live and my normally sushi-loving fiancé refuses to try it!

  6. I wish we had a restaurant like that around here. My husband and son would eat there every single day. Bad service really can ruin a good meal, but it sounds like the food was good enough to (almost) make up for it.

  8. I'm pretty boring and safe when it comes to sushi - vegetable rolls and cooked shrimp. Occasionally, if I'm feeling a bit on the wild side, I'll get salmon, but it's rare. My husband and I will make sushi ourselves at home in the summer and fill the rolls with all our favorite veggies.

  12. Looks so yummy! I've had bits and pieces of sushi, but never been to a place that that's all they do. Did you owe anything at the end?

  17. We have a place similar to this one nearby us. It's more like $15 a person, I guess because we live in a touristy town on the beach. Anyhow, love sushi, love edamame and you just made me really hungry! My favorite sushi roll contains salmon, cream cheese, avocado and ikra.
