I spent most of my time out in the barns. Bestfran Numero Uno is a H.S. AG Teacher and two of her students were showin' animals. I also spent a little bit of time walkin' around and seein' the exhibits. We wanted to do a tad more but things got bumped up and screwed up our schedule. Only one of her students were showin' on Saturday and while we are out and about on the grounds she gets a panicked phone call from him that they just called his class ringside. Y'all when we had left not even an hour before they were still almost five classes away from his. Poor boy didn't even have time to re-wash his goat. Steph, was in the middle of gettin' her shoes shined. We had to stop that quick fast and in a hurry. There where like 50 kids in his class and they still finished his group in like 20 minutes. I'm told that's a shame since this was a major show and these kids worked all year for this. But there's still time before County and Houston. But y'all know my favorite part is always the free samples the vendors give out. Get ya some Bear Creek ASAP. SOO good. And you can tell 'em Steph sent ya. Her AG kids sale this throughout the year to raise money.
Steph teaches at a 1A high school on the outskirts of East Texas a lil' over and hours from my house. She had told one of the parents before hand that I was a blogger and not to be alarmed if I was runnin' around snappin' picture's. I was a tad nervous that they would be weary of this but everyone was cool about it. I even became fran's with one of the dads and he kept tryin' to get me to take photos of the school next to us. He wanted me to blog about them and tell the world how rude they were. HA! There ya go Bud. I just told blog world how rude they were. To bad I didn't catch the name of the school. Can y'all tell I've become obsessed with grainy photos and editin' them as such. Y'all have the apps After Light and VSCO to thank for that. But I won't overload y'all with anymore pictures than this. I spent more time takin' pics of the fashion choices people had than I did anything else. And if you found the #GiveLove letter I left out there be sure and let me know.
Wow!! I am obviously too much of a city girl. This seems like something that would be so much fun to attend. We don't have them anywhere I've ever lived. I don't think...
ReplyDelete<3 the stock show.. Our boys were in the FFA so we got to attend Houston at least 3x's and Ft Worth once. Houston was the best! If you get the opportunity.. buy some of the pigs in a blanket if the kids sell them. They are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearin' about Houston and the food they sale. Houston is also on my list. I know the bestfran will be there and if I am free that weekend I might go down there. I'll have to make sure and add those food items to my list. I was also told I have to try the burgers.
DeleteI've never been to a rodeo before, even though they have many that come down to Alabama all the time. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteOhh, you deff should. It was cold but loads of fun. Next time I'll have to make it a point of going over and seein' some of the shows.
Deleteoooooh! cute animals! I need to come snuggle them!
ReplyDeleteYou got the coolest pictures from the FWSSR! We had a group of 18...so it was kind of hard! I wish we could have met up. I showed Nathan your picture before we went and he was helping me look for you! :) Those barns were crazy when we got there! Glad you had fun and can cross another off your list!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the FWSSR. I used to go every year until I moved up here. You captured some really awesome photos, friend!! Thank you for linking up with us for Texas Tuesday!!
ReplyDeletePs: I love your new layout. I haven't seen it yet, so I am excited for you.
Loved looking at all your amazing photos, you really have an eye to capture the "art" in an image.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mommy Mafia. I've been tryin' to practice
