When you frost a cupcake you spread the love

Show Ashley some love y'all

Gah, it's been forever since I posted a recipe and honestly I've missed it and y'all. Well by y'all I mean all the Pinterest lurkers who read my recipes but don't comment. Some of my highest viewed post are my recipes. So thank y'all for clearly enjoying/pinning the things I cook in my kitchen.

If you're new around here then let me explian to y'all how my recipe post work. I rather explain than link y'all to old post cause Lord knows I hate when bloggers do that. Keep me on the page at hand. Anyways, here is how my recipe post work: and I quote

I post some poorly lit photo of a dish I made. Y'all take my word that it tastes good.
But before I actually post the recipe I tell an awkward story that y'all pretend to like and in said story. I overuse the words y'all, Momma, Daddy, Paw paw and Granny while randomly capitalizing things that shouldn't be capitalized and simultaneously butchering proper grammar. And all y'all really want is the recipe so you can be on your way.

I've mentioned before that I prefer cooking to baking. I think it's because I don't have any fancy equipment and baking takes me twice as long. Y'all I still use a plug in hand mixer that you have to hold. If the baking fairies wanna send me an overpriced Kitchen Aid I won't complain. In hot pink or mint please. Y'all know my Granny is the baker of the family. Remember how she owned her own Wedding Cake and Catering business. She prefers to make things from scratch but in her older age it is harder. I really appreciate it because it makes things easier for me. Well, this is another one of her creations. She makes this every time she comes to visit and Momma eats all the cake from us. When my Granny makes it, it is usually a three lawyer Caramel Cake. I made these for a bake sale at work and turned them into cupcakes so the kids would buy the. I actually turned quite a few of her cakes into cupcakes and maybe I’ll get around to posting them this summer.
Welp, here y'all go:

Ingredients:
1 Duncan Hines Deluxe Yellow Cake Mix (as well as ingredients)
2 cups dark brown sugar
2 sticks of butter
2 cups of powdered sugar
½ cup of pet milk
1 small carton sour cream
Directions:
1.  Make the Duncan Hines Cake Mix according to the box for cupcakes.
2. For the Caramel Frosting:
·         Melt butter with two cups of brown sugar.
·         Bring to a boil and then remove from the heat.
·         Add ½ a cup of Pet Milk.
·         Place back on the stove and bring to a boil.
·         Remove from the heat and let cool to luke warm
·         Add 2 cups of powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
(Yes you have to actually let the caramel cool before addind the powdered sugar. If you don't the heat will seperate the cake and you will have a mess on your hands.)

As always from my kitchen to yours,
