Give me love like never before, Cause lately I've been wakin' up alone

Oh, 2013, so glad to see you've been kicked to the curb like yesterday's trash. No, really yesterday's trash was kicked to the curb. Our trash day is Wednesday. See what I did there as we move right along. Besides church I rang in the new year the same way I spent the past year; with a mug of tea by my side. On a more vein note: I stare at this picture and think of the quote," don't let no one with jacked up eyebrows tell you squat" or somethin' like that it goes. Point is, I was lookin' rough and I dare anyone to tell me somethin'. Well, that had nothing to do with nothing so...

2013 was one heck of a year. I could recap via post but I won't. You can read the archives if you care that much. I won't even pretend that it was the greatest year and give some load of bull that would be larger than the state I live in. And y'all know that would be one big ol' hot mess considerin' i'm in the huge state of Texas. If I had to sum up 2013 in a short phrase fit for a Jeopardy question, I'd say: "It happened!" Sure there were highs and lows but in the end I survived and came out the other end stronger, wiser, happier and healthier. In the end, isn't that all I can really ask for. Here's to Greater in 2014.

With that, I've mentioned before that I would be addin' some new things to the blog in the upcoming year. You can read all about it on my Birfday Post. Well, with the start of a new year I have a few more things I wanna do with Le Blog and I'mma bout to tell y'all all about 'em.

You know how everyone always has a word they want to focus on in the new year? Well, my word is love. Just like the cups I made: I want to spread warmth and love. I want everything I do to be out of love. Lately I have become obsessed with Ed Sheeran and his song Give me Love. I became even more obsessed when my favorite Xfactor contestant AlexandSierra covered the song. That coupled with the blog In the next 30 days has inspired the #GiveLove project. Side note: Y'all should really check out her blog. Every thirty days she gives herself a new challenge to complete and blogs about it. I loved her letter challenge she did last year. She was inspired by the blog More love letters.

But back to the  #GiveLove project. I plan on writing anonymous love letters and leaving them all over DFW. The world needs more love. I'll take a picture daily of the letter and then blog about it and where I left it. I won't leave my name or the blog because the goal is not to be found. But I will add the hastag #GiveLove to the end of every letter.

So here's where y'all come in:  It will start on Jan 20th and go till Feb 11th. Truthfully I'll try and do it all year but I will be doing it consitentatly for 30 days and bloggin' about it. Y'all should join me. There will be no link-up just use one of the hastags and let's get to spreadin' some love.

2 These still need to dry and have a few things added till their finished but they're gonna be my 2014 memory jars. Everytime something good happens or I want to remember something I will write it on a stick note and place it in one of the jars. If nothing amazing happened that day then I will write something I am thankful for. At the end of the year I will open the jars and be able to look back on how much greater 2014 was.

3 I've already mentioned that I'm participating in the #EmptyShelf challenge. If you missed the memo here ya go: Clear off a row on your bookshelf and take a picture. Every time you read a new book you add it to the shelf and take a picture. Here's to readin' more in 2014.

Whelp, here's to kickin' 2013 to the curb and draggin' in the new year. What are your plans to be greater and spread love in 2014?

  1. My word of the year was love too! I'm really digging the idea of an empty shelf challenge :) I'll have to find a shelf somewhere that I can clean off.
