I spent the weekend makin' memories. That's the thing I've always loved about spring. The beautiful weather and the chance for new adventure. Growin' up in Texas you're bound to have memories of every Spring puttin' on your nicest dress and takin' pictures in a field of Bluebonnets.
One of my neighbors had Bluebonnets that grew wild all over her yard. She would scold us neighborhood children if we even looked at her yard wrong. And don't you dare think about walkin' through her yard in the Winter. Ms. Linda, the neighbor, has long since passed but I know she's still with us. I see her in each Bluebonnet I pass. I hear her when the petals rustle. Her smile is as bright as the Texas sun.
Oh my! Your daughter is so beautiful. I love the flowers! It looks like she was enjoying them, too. I don't know that I've ever seen bluebonnets in person.
ReplyDeleteYou should come to Texas they are the best. And yes, Ruthie is the cutest. I don't know if I could handle if she was mine. Too much personality. HA. I just watch her sometimes
DeleteWOW! I wished I lived somewhere with all those gorgeous flowers!
ReplyDelete"I see her in each bluebonnet I pass." I love this.
ReplyDeleteThe connection of your neighbor to the bluebonnets made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti. She was such a lovely lady. I like to think she's in Heaven sitting next to some now drinkin' a glass of sweet tea
DeleteThe bluebonnets are gorgeous! We get a few, very small ones that will pop up around here, but nothing like those!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, such happy pictures. Bluebells are wonderful! (as is spring, if it will stick around a minute)

DeleteWonderful day! Wonder if your neighbor ever enjoyed her yard the way you did your day?
